Inspired by combined elements of fantasy and sci-fi in Afro-futurism, guided by ancestral spirits and the magick of African body adornments. My jewelry is intended to evoke an energy that expresses natural good, reveals knowledge of self , and enhances spiritual purification through works made for the human experience.
The jewelry I have created moves up and around the neck and torso, highlighting the energy centers within us. These influences have directed the careful consideration of my placement of the works on the body and their physical materialization. Incorporating metals such as brass and nu gold specifically for their holistic properties. I am enhancing the spiritual feelings being absorbed from wearing the work, including the ability to develop creative imagination and dissolve confusion. The use of triangular patterns within the fabric bring in the balance of male and female energy promoting development of intelligence and abstract thinking which helps to make the body more receptive. These magickal works embody a sense of protection and serve as amulets in spiritual warfare.
Within these works, I am creating ritual ornaments that access points of power and the ability to define the world of tomorrow, today. I envision the use of these adornments in sacred gatherings held to channel the spiritual realm. When worn on the body an energy arises that can realign our connection to earthly and heavenly consciousness granting a spiritual connection to an unseen world.
